Upgrading

Follow this task when upgrading an existing Componize for Alfresco installation.

CAUTION:
Make sure you have a full backup of both your application data and binaries before you start the upgrade.

Whether you are upgrading Alfresco, Componize for Alfresco or both, we recommend that you start from a new installation of the Alfresco binaries and Componize for Alfresco AMPs.

  1. Check the Alfresco documentation for the supported upgrade paths.
Note: Depending on the supported upgrade path, you may have to perform the following steps two or more times.
  2. Follow the steps described in Installing Alfresco and Installing the Componize for Alfresco AMPs to install a new instance of the Alfresco binaries with the Componize for Alfresco AMPs.
  3. Migrate your configuration files to the new instance so that it will use the original database, content store location (dir.root) and Solr indexes.
  4. Start your new instance.
    CAUTION:
Make sure the original instance has been shutdown and cannot be restarted again accidentally.
During startup, the database will be automatically upgraded and one or more patches may be applied.
Note: The upgrade procedure may take some time.
  5. Once the application has started successfully, perform a full backup of both your application data and binaries.
