An XProc pipeline document is written using XML markup and is stored in an XML document with
an .xpl extension. XProc pipeline documents make use of several XProc steps as defined by the
XProc pipeline language specification.
XProc pipeline documents are supplied out of the box for most of your DITA and DocBook output processing requirements. You can, however, specialize the default XProc pipeline documents or create your own from scratch.
