XML pipelines and output processing

Output processing is performed in Componize using XML pipelines. More generally, XML pipelines can be used whenever you need to process your XML content. XML pipelines in Componize are defined using the XProc pipeline language or by using the DITA-OT server.

XProc pipeline documents
An XProc pipeline document is written using XML markup and is stored in an XML document with an .xpl extension. XProc pipeline documents make use of several XProc steps as defined by the XProc pipeline language specification.
Pipeline definitions
To run an XProc pipeline in Componize you need to create a Spring bean that defines a reference to your XProc pipeline document and several associated properties. In Componize, we call this Spring bean a Pipeline definition.
Pipeline configurations
A Pipeline configuration is a Node in Alfresco used to store a pipeline definition along with the options to be used by the pipeline.

Pipelines using the DITA-OT Server
As an alternative to Componize DITA XProc pipelines, you can use the DITA-OT Server. This solution allows to use any version of the DITA-OT toolkit.
